According to the police report, the robber tried to grab the woman's purse when a stranger came to her rescue. At this point, the robber showed the two his knife, which is when the woman was injured on her middle finger on her right hand, police said.

The witness left the scene before police arrived at the scene. (Police are asking for the witness to contact the police department to help the investigation).

No arrests were made. It's unclear if the assaults were the work of the same man.
