Hoboken Police Say Several Laptops Stolen From Apartments

Hoboken police say Apple laptops and other electronics worth several thousand dollars were stolen from at least three different apartments over the last week.

On Monday night, a 25-year-old Sixth St. resident said she came home from work around 7 p.m. and later discovered two of her roommate's silver MacBook Airs and a Gucci watch were gone, reports said.

A 33-year-old Bloomfield St. man told police his black MacBook had also been stolen that night, reports said. He came home from work around 10 p.m., but did not notice the laptop was missing until he went to bed at midnight and found that it was gone from its usual spot under his pillow, reports said. The 33-year-old believes he may have left his apartment door unlocked, reports said.

One week ago, two 24-year-old roommates, students at Stevens Institute of Technology reported $200 in cash, a Nikon camera, three laptops and other Apple products missing from their Washington St. apartment, reports said. One roommate said he locked the door when he left around noon, and when he got back to the apartment and attempted to open the door with his key, he found the door was unlocked, reports said.

In all three cases, police say there was no sign of forced entry to the buildings or the apartment doors.

Hoboken police are still investigating the thefts, and no arrests have been made.
