Hoboken Residents Invited to Participate in 'No Questions Asked' Gun Buyback

The New Jersey Attorney General's Office, in conjunction with the Hudson County and Union County Prosecutors Offices, will hold a gun buy back event Friday and Saturday with drop-off locations in both counties.

Hoboken gun owners looking to unload their firearms for cash with no questions asked can do so this Friday and Saturday at six locations in Hudson and Union counties as part of an attorney general-sponsored gun buyback initiative.

Residents may anonymously turn in as many as three guns for up to $250 per weapon at houses of worship in Bayonne, Jersey City, Union City, Elizabeth, Linden and Plainfield (click here for full address information and directions) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on either day.

There are no drop-off locations in Hoboken, but residents may surrender a weapon — which must be unloaded and in a gun case or container — at Hoboken Police Headquarters on either Friday or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and receive a police escort with their weapon to one of the designated drop-off locations.
