A 29-year-old was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and aggravated assault on a police officer on Sunday night, according to Hoboken police.
The incident occured around 11:30 p.m. on Newark and Hudson Streets.
Police arrested Christopher Rogan after allegedly acting in a disorderly manner, cursing out police officers and resisting arrest.
Police officers first encountered Rogan when he was yelling loudly, police said. When police approached him he became "agitated," according to reports.
The officer told Rogan he had five seconds to walk away, to which Rogan answered "f*** you, I don't have to do anything," police said. "F*** you, cops."
Rogan attended a bar downtown together with his friend and housemate, according to reports. Both seemed intoxicated, police said.
Rogan's friend was pushed to the ground by one of the officer's batons, while the other officer got involved in a physical altercation with Rogan, police said. Rogan allegedly punched the officer in the chest, police said.
The officers took out their batons and Rogan was forced to the ground and struck on his legs "to engender compliance," police said.
