The NWS predicts hard driving rainfall of between 0.5 and 1 inch to cause minor urban flooding with a localized urban flash flood threat possible in some areas. Winds of between 19 and 24 miles per hour are expected in Hoboken this afternoon, with gusts reaching as high as 36 miles per hour.
The city urges residents to postpone any outdoor activities, if possible, and to bring inside any unsecured objects from patios and balconies that are at risk of blowing away and causing damage or injury to people or property.
Residents should not try to move downed power lines or debris themselves. Instead, call the Hoboken Fire Department at (201) 420-2007 for downed lines or 911 in case of emergency.
As of 10:15 a.m., Public Service had yet to report any power outages in Hoboken on their outage information map.
