Water Pipe Break Displaces 60 Residents for Days

Madison Street condo was one of four buildings in the city to suffer water pipe breaks on Saturday.

Sixty Hoboken residents will be displaced for at least three days following one of four water pipe breaks in the city on Saturday.

A water pipe broke in the walls of a vacant unit at 729 Madison St. at about 10 a.m. Saturday, displacing all 60 residents of the 30-unit condo, according to NJ.com.

The break was the first of four in different buildings around the city on Saturday. However, those breaks only caused minor damage and no one was displaced, the article said.
