‘Ethnic Cleansing' Suit Resurfaces Against Zimmer

The lawsuit was dismissed by a state Superior Court judge in December.

Hoboken Housing Authority executive director and state assemblyman-elect Carmelo Garcia plans to refile a recently dismissed lawsuit that accused Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer of “ethnic cleansing.”

According to a report on nj.com, Garcia’s suit believes Zimmer and others are trying to push minorities out of the city to make way for affluent, white residents.

The lawsuit, which also named former HHA commissioner Jake Stuiver, was dismissed by a state Superior Court judge in December, but the judge said Garcia could revise and refile the complaint by Feb. 14, nj.com reported Wednesday.
