Planning Board Takes up Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance Tuesday

The Hoboken Planning Board will discuss a proposed update to a portion of the city's municipal code at a hearing Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the basement conference room of Hoboken City Hall.

The introduced update deals with "Chapter 104: Flood Damage Prevention," which discusses the minimization of public and private losses from flooding in flood hazard zones and provides guidelines for elevation, construction and design standards. The proposed changes to the ordinance reflect updates recommended by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

A copy of the ordinance is available for review in the Planning Board Office, Zoning Board Office or on the City web site.
