Tis the Season to be Giving - Hoboken upcoming charity events.

With the winter holidays in full force, numerous individuals and local Hoboken organizations are joining forces to raise money, supplies and toys for people in need.  The following is a list of upcoming happenings in the Mile Square City this holiday season.

 

Tonight at The Cuban, located at 333 Washington Street will be a Happy Hour to benefit Rebuild Hoboken.  The event is from 4pm-7pm.

Also tonight at the Elks Lodge at 1005 Washington St, 7pm is Hoboken's Waterfront Parks in Peril yealry fundraiser.

Wednesday, December 12th at Liberty Bar from 7pm - 2am is a Toys for Tots fundraiser.  The event, which is organized by Fernando Uribe, a local Hoboken philanthropist and reporter on Hudsoncountytv.com will run all night long and feature an assortment of drink and food specials.  Attendees are asked to each bring 1 unwrapped toy for a child.

Until December 23rd, the Hoboken Famly Alliance is having their Toy, Pajama and Book drive.  Residents are asked to bring these items to the following locations:

Friday, December 14th is the Hoboken Elks Lodge is hosting a comedy night at 8pm, proceeds to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.  Headliner Anton Shufford and several other comedians will be making everyone laugh.  Local comics Adam Wade and Chris Deluca a.k.a. Hoboken Sink Hole on twitter will be performing as well.  Admission is $20 and includes a dinner buffet, cash bar is optional.

Saturday, December 15th is Holiday Open House at Hair Cult, 1124 Washington St this Saturday.  Stop in for some holiday cheer while you get yourself pampered and drop off a toy or gift card for boy or girl age 5-15.

Monday, December 17th is Hurricone scoops night from 5pm to 9pm at Ben n Jerry's on Washington Street to benefit the Hoboken Homesless Shelter.

Also on Monday, December 17th from 7pm - 10pm at City Bistro on 14th Street in Hoboken is a Restore our NJ Shore event.  The event is a $25 donation at the door and it gets you a free drink ticket and hors d'oeuvres.  Every dollar raised will go to supporting nonprofits helping Sandy victims at the NJ shore.  Anyone who would like to donate anything for the silent auction, pease contact Heather at CityBistroInfo@yahoo.com.
