Hoboken High Brings 'Spelling Bee' Musical to the Stage

The play runs Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m.

Hoboken High School takes a comically lexicographical turn when it presents the stage musical "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" Feb. 7-9.

The award-winning play with book by Rachel Sheinkin and music and lyrics by William Finn presents tells the story of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime and sends up the hilarious struggles of those suffering from overachievers' angst.  The show is directed by Danielle Miller.  Kristen Dziuba is the musical director and choreography is by Guinevere DiPiazza.

Experience the talents of Hoboken High's thespians: The production runs Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for general admission, $5 for students and $3 for seniors.
