Hoboken High School Teacher of the Year Thanks Students

The high school arts teacher dedicated her award to the students at Hoboken High.

Being teacher of the year can't be accomplished without a good crop of students.

That's the message Erin Kubach — teacher of the year at Hoboken High — conveyed during Tuesday night's school board meeting.

"This award represents my kids," she said, "they push me every day to do what i do."

Kubach was named high school teacher of the 2012-2013 academic year.

"We have a district full of kids that are fearless," Kubach said, "they have a ton of energy."

Kubach also runs the school's ski club, has been the leader of the Model UN contest and runs the Gay Straight Alliance at the high school.

"Even if they're not taking art, I know every single one of them," Kubach said, "they're amazing kids. And that's why I have this award."
