Hoboken Schools Closed Friday

Non-snow emergency city personnel will have a delayed opening Friday.

The Hoboken Public School District announced Thursday evening that city schools would be closed Friday due to snow.

The City of Hoboken will also have an 11 a.m. delayed opening for non-snow emergency personnel on Friday, the city announced. Public safety and snow removal operations personnel should report to work as scheduled.

Gov. Chris Christie also declared a state of emergency and closed all state offices for non-essential employees on Friday due to the coming snowstorm.

"The impending weather conditions over the next several days will produce a variety of dangerous travel conditions throughout the state," Gov. Chris Christie said as he issued his declaration late Thursday afternoon. "I encourage all New Jerseyans to stay off the roads if possible so that our first responders and public safety officials can safely respond to any emergency situations."
