HoLa Charter School Resumes Classes, Finds Alternative Locations

With the Boys & Girls Club still closed, HoLa Charter School is placing its students in other areas of town.

The Boys & Girls Club remains closed this week after suffering heavy damage in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, causing Spanish language charter school to place its students in other buildings in town.

On Wednesday, the school's third and fourth graders resumed classes at the Jubilee Center. On Thursday, the rest of the HoLa students were expected to temporarily move into the empty trailers by the Wallace School, according to HoLa founding member Barbara Martinez.

"We are enormously grateful to Jubilee and to the Hoboken school district for their generosity in this time so that our kids can get back to school," Martinez said.
