A Reform “Push Poll”- Tim Occhipinti Part 1

 1)      Do think an individual should live pay check to pay check or keep a reasonable reserve for emergencies?  Tim Occhipinti voting twice for a $0 reserve in for Hoboken? Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

2)      No individual or governmental unit can 100% predict annual costs. In every other municipality the differences are reconciled by routine transfers neither costing or saving tax payer dollars. Tim Occhipinti voted against routine transfers. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

3)      Tim Occhipinti thinks that Hoboken has too much debt and votes against virtually every bond issue, despite the fact that Hoboken’s debt to assessed property value is in reality quite low.  Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

4)      Tim Occhipinti voted to effectively close Hoboken University Medical Center (HUMC)  our largest employer, which would have cost taxpayers $80-90 million in increased taxes (75-80% tax increase) and only relented when the City Council chamber was filled to capacity (standing room only) opposing him. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

5)      Do you believe that elected officials should follow NJ state law?  Tim Occhipinti stated that parking could be enacted by resolution, as opposed to NJ State law and input from Hoboken’s Corporate Counsel that an ordinance is required. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

6)      Mayor Zimmer installed a state of the art pump system downtown to combat flooding. Tim Occhipinti suggested that 4th Ward residents would be better off watching the Weather Channel instead. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

7)      Tim Occhipinti lobbied for a single attorney to handle Hoboken redevelopment zones despite that fact that is was proven to him that there are many aspects to redevelopment and that no one attorney can handle this complex situation. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

8)      Tim Occhipinti opposed Ement technology which has provided Hoboken with valuable data about the condition of our decrepit sewerage system to help Hoboken use precious tax payer dollars effectively. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

9)      Tim Occhipinti claims that the City Council has a “toxic” political divide. Tim Occhipinti constantly interrupts his colleagues and losing his temper? Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

10)  Tim Occhipinti still has 5 criminal affidavits outstanding from his 1st run for the 4th Ward seat. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

11)  Tim Occhipinti employs hundreds of “campaign workers”, more than every other Hoboken Ward race combined, who rarely if ever campaign and magically all use VBM ballots and even more magically vote 100% for Tim Occhipinti.

Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

12)  Tim Occhipinti was an enthusiastic supporter of former Mayor and convicted felon Peter Cammarano. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

13)  Tim Occhipinti refused to sign a clean campaign agreement?

   Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

14)   How do feel about Tim Occhipinti fighting for a small pocket park in the 4th Ward at over twice the cost of an alternative two–three times larger park. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?

15)  Tim Occhipinti greedily lobbied for almost all of the park refurbishing /acquisition bond issue for his pet project at the expense of the rest of Hoboken. Would this make you more or less likely to vote for Tim?
