Hudson Co's is once again is near the top in raising NJ taxes

I moved to Hoboken in 1985. Although I recently moved this blog is still primarily my take on Hoboken politics and politricks.

Unlike municipalities, for County taxes, the amount to be raised by taxation can be found on Sheet 2. For a website that has a 2012 budget online I attempted to search for news articles to see if a 2013 budget was introduced. Once again inefficient, patronage ridden Democratic Hudson County is near the top in tax increases. For those who have opaque budget information an email was sent asking why the budget could not be found. I agree with 10 Hudson County mayors that this year’s tax rise should be voted down. Hudson County should immediately perform operational audits similar to Hoboken so that staffing levels can reviewed. I have no doubt that if done it would expose the shortcomings and excessive costs that taxpayers must bear. I urge Freeholder Anthony Romano to vote no and protect Hoboken taxpayers.Of course I tried to find his email on the Hudson Co. web site, but since Hudson County is opaque I could not find it.

Below are N J’s 21 Counties and their 2013 budgets and property taxes:
