Under Mayor Zimmer Hoboken Once Again Is A leader in NJ Budget Cuts

I moved to Hoboken in 1985. Although i recently moveed, this blog is still primarily my take on Hoboken politics and politricks.

Each year I review NJ towns to see how Hoboken under Mayor Zimmer competes. For 3 budget cycles Hoboken has placed in the top 10 of NJ’s 560+ communities (at least the ones that have some budget information available). This year we once again finished #14 or in the top 3%. This shows how progress can be obtained by a dedicated, fiscally conservative Reform majority. . Most cities use the identical format as Hoboken. For Hoboken follow the links to find the 2013 proposed budget:

Use Sheet 11 to calculate the yearly tax levy change. Look for a line towards the bottom that reads:

“Total Amount to be Raised by Taxes for Support of Municipal Government”.

A handful of towns use a 3 page form. Look for page 3b2 for those towns.

Over 500 towns have a 2013, 2012 budget while new articles can be found for others. 46 cities show a decrease in the tax levy. Some towns are small and do not even have a website. In some cases interpolation must be used due to scant information. I have also added notes for selected towns. Look up your hometown or any other you wish. If anyone has additional information feel free to comment. The Patch foramtting may be off, if so I apologize.
