Hoboken Travel Soccer Club Holds Tryouts on Saturday

The Hoboken All Stars Travel Soccer Club is a competitive alternative to Recreational Soccer and will hold tryouts on Saturday.

The level of play is more advanced, and the level of play and development of the players is expected to exceed that of the players who play HYSL. It, however, does not mean the focus is on winning—the focus is still on player development and fun. The Hoboken All Stars Teams are trained by New York Red Bulls professionals.

Teams are established based on gender at the U-7, U-8 and up levels (U=Under) and are based on the player’s age as of Aug. 1 of the given year. For example, a player who does not turn 10 before Aug. 1, will be U-10, or a player who does not turn 11 before Aug. 1 will be U-11.

Typically, U-9 is for players in 3rd grade: U-10 for 4th grade; and so on. However, sometimes the player’s grade in school does not match to their age as of Aug. 1 and they can be placed in a younger group from their classmates. 

Registration is required for all new players. Parents of any new boys and girls interested in travel soccer should email hobokenallstars@outlook.com to obtain a pre-registration form that needs to be completed and submitted before the tryouts.

All players need to wear shin guards, bring a soccer ball and water.
