Neighborhood children and summer campers hoping to take a dip at the new Boys and Girls Club pool Monday will have to wait an additional day after weekend repairs were postponed due to inclement weather.
Health and Human Services director Leo Pellegrini said rain showers late last week set the vendor back a day and postponed plans to fix a tear in the new pool's lining.
Instead of making the repairs Saturday, as planned, the vendor came out Monday morning at 8:30 to repair the leak, which was discovered just a day after the new pool opened to the public last Tuesday.
Hoboken firemen and recreation department staff oversaw the pool's filling Monday afternoon.
Pellegrini said the free municipal pool would re-open Tuesday morning. It is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., until Aug. 30.
