Library Looking for Therapy Dogs, Trainers for Beginning Readers

The Hoboken Public Library needs help for its "Reader of the Pack" program for new readers.

The Hoboken Public Library is on the hunt for certified therapy dogs and trainers to participate in its monthly Reading Dog Program.

The program, held on the third Wednesday of each month at 3:30 p.m., provides new readers a comforting canine audience for building their reading chops while trainers act as reading "coaches," for the children.

Attendance at every session is not mandatory, but a commitment to the program is expected.

Reading dogs must play well with other dogs and young children.

To get involved, call senior children's librarian Lois Gross at (201) 420-2348.
