Students to Raise Awareness in front of Hoboken Charter School

The event will take place on Saturday in front of the burnt school.

Hoboken Charter School students are returning to their school on Saturday.

At 10 a.m., in front of the building that was heavily damaged by a recent fire, more than 100 kindergarten through eighth grade students will be raising awareness in front of the building at 713 Washington St.

The students will all wear the same white t-shirts, with the words "rebuild Hoboken Charter School" on them, in bright red letters.

"The act of unity is part of a wide-ranging effort to raise awareness about the need to rebuild the building and restore the educational program," announced George Cahn, a parent at the school and also the charter school's spokesman.

"The need to provide the students with all of the textbooks, supplies and technology they need for the year remains," he continued, "as does the primary goal of completely rebuilding the 713 Washington St. building and returning the school to its permanent home in Hoboken."
