All Schools Open House, Home Show This Week in Hoboken

*Parents of school-age children are invited to attend an all schools open house on Thursday at the Hoboken High School gym, located at 800 Clinton St. Representatives from over 20 schools ranging in age from pre-K to high school will be present at this annual forum that allows parents to evaluate public and private school options in Hoboken and the surrounding areas. The Hoboken Family Alliance will have representatives from all of the area schools on hand to meet with interested parents from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

*Learn how to reduce, reuse and live a greener, more sustainable lifestyle Tuesday at the first annual Hoboken Home Show, being held at Edge Lofts, located at 1405 Clinton St. Vendors will show guests easy ways to reduce their carbon footprint at the free event, and the first 50 attendees receive gift bags.

*The latest designs from boutique accessory company Stella & Dot will be on display Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Little Town, NJ. A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Noreen Fraser Foundation in support of women's cancer research. 

*Mayor Dawn Zimmer is unable to attend her weekly office hours session this Monday, so Directors Brandy Forbes and Leo Pellegrini and the Mayor’s Chief of Staff will host residents in the mayor's office on the second floor of City Hall for office hours from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in her absence.

*The Ramos Campaign will hold its weekly "Wine and Cheese" meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at "Vision for Hoboken" headquarters, 801 Washington St., to discuss local issues like flooding, parking and quality of life with residents.

Performance Events

*Mile Square Theatre presents the first of two events in its upcoming Fall Performance Fest this Wednesday with a reading of Stacie Lent’s play "Laugh Out Loud (cry quietly)", at 8 p.m at the Monroe Theatrespace, located at 720 Monroe St. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for students and seniors. 

*Local jazz and blues band Swingadelic performs Thursday at Pilsener Haus and Biergarten at 8 p.m.

Farmer's Markets

*The Hoboken Downtown Farmers’ Market is open Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Washington Street between Newark Street and Observer Highway.

*Residents can grab fresh produce at the Hoboken Uptown Farmers’ Market on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the corner of 13th and Hudson streets.

*The Hoboken Family Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 14th Street and Garden Street.

*The Hoboken Board of Education will hold its monthly public meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at 1115 Clinton St.

*The Hoboken Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will hold their monthly public meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Fox Hill Gardens, located at 311 13th St.
