Community Education Workshops, Police Toy Drive This Week in Hoboken

For those looking to get some civic engagement, both the Hoboken Board of Education and the Hoboken Housing Authority will hold regular meetings this week. The board of ed meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wallace School gymnasium, 1100 Willow Ave., and the HHA meets Thursday at 6 p.m. at Adams Gardens, 220 Adams St.

The city also has a public meeting scheduled for Tuesday at the Multi-Service Center from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. that will provide residents a chance to weigh in on the first phase of a proposed Southwest Park.

On Wednesday, the Hoboken Police Department encourages residents to stop by headquarters and drop off an unwrapped gift as part of the department's second annual "Fill the Bus" toy drive, which runs from 11. a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Beginning this week, HOPES CAP will kick off a series of career-oriented community workshops at the Hopes Family Resource Center, 532 Jackson St. This week's workshops will be held Monday (Setting Goals & Job Search Strategies), Tuesday (Navigating the Internet) and Wednesday (Customer Service) from 10 a.m. to noon.
