Weekender: Pub Crawl, Gallery Walk

*Mayoral hopeful Tim Occhipinti and his newly-announced ticket "One Hoboken" are holding a voter registration party Friday at Hotel Victor, located at 77 Hudson Street, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Local cover band Gravy Train will be performing live at the event.

*Local party-hosting group Pintmeisters, which donates a portion of its event proceeds to charity, is hosting a pub crawl on Saturday to celebrate the Irish holiday's halfway point. For $25 (or $20 if you pre-order your tickets online), "Paddy's .5" revelers get a t-shirt, beer koozie, wrist band and entree to drink specials at participating bars.

*As part of its week of service to remember Sept. 11, volunteers with Jersey Cares, a non-profit that coordinates volunteer opportunities across the state, will prepare and serve meals for local firefighters at three firehouses in Hoboken on Saturday. Contact Stephanie Asymkos at (973)-424-1091 if you'd like to get involved.

*Newport Centre, located in the heart of Jersey City’s Hudson River waterfront community, will host a barnyard event for youngsters on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Simon Kidgits Club Barnyard Bash will feature arts and crafts activities revolving around animals and all things farm-related.

*The Vagabond Theatre Company is holding a Radical 80s Back to School Dance Night on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Willie McBride's, located at 616 Grand St. For $40 in advance (or $45 at the door) partygoers have access to a three-hour open bar and retro snacks, and will be entered into a costume contest. For more details, including how to order tickets, visit www.vagabondonstage.com/.
