According to the New Jersey Department of Education, Wallace Primary School No. 6 did not meet its Adequate Yearly…More Progress in 2008 and was deemed "in need of improvement" according to standards of the No Child Left Behind Act.
Wallace's science program is supplemented by two full time science lab teachers. A collaboration with Liberty Science Center provides numerous opportunities for hands-on experiences. Another collaboration with Stevens Institute of Technology and the Museum of Science in Boston is entitled "Engineering Our Future NJ."
Special Needs programs in the form of self-contained classes, inclusion, and small group pull out are in place servicing students who require assistance. Occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech are provided to those students who can benefit from these services.
