New York celebrates Super Bowl XLVI victory in style.
Check out the gallery above to see photos from Tuesday's Ticker Tape parade in New York City, celebrating the Giants' victory in Super Bowl XLVI. Hundreds of thousands of fans flocked to the Canyon of Heroes in downtown Manhattan to ring in New York's latest championship. Paper flew from buildings, fans tossed toilet paper rolls back and forth over Broadway Avenue, and the Giants rolled by with smiles as they ended at City Hall to accept keys to the city from Mayor Michael Bloomberg. New York mounts comeback on final drive to beat New England.
INDIANAPOLIS – The crowd was eerily quiet as Eli Manning and the Giants took over for one last drive in the final four minutes of Super Bowl XLVI. Like he’s done countless times during the 2011 season, Manning made a series of precision passes – five to be exact, including a 38-yard out route to Mario Manningham that sparked the drive – and set New York up inside the 10-yard line. Ahmad Bradshaw finished the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run that capped a 21-17 Giants victory over the New England Patriots at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday night. Manning, who was 30-for-40 passing, threw for 296 yards and one touchdown, earning his second Super Bowl MVP award against the Patriots. “We moved the ball down the field, and Eli [Manning] made some …

Senator Lautenberg appeared at Carlo's bakery today to announce his wager with Senator John Kerry for the Super Bowl this Sunday.
Just 48 hours before kick-off, U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) raised the stakes for Sunday’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants, wagering a bet with Massachusetts Senator John Kerry. If the Patriots win, he owes Kerry one of Carlo’s finest cakes, but if the Giants are victorious, then Kerry owes him a Boston Cream Pie sent directly from Massachusetts. "I'm betting a Carlo’s cake against a Boston Crème pie [that the Giants will win Sunday]," Lautenberg said Friday afternoon, "and we don’t like Boston Crème Pie around here!" The walls of Carlo’s Bakery we’re packed from wall to wall to see Senator Lautenberg as well as a piece of one of Carlo’s Super Bowl-themed cakes. Upon entering the bakery, …

The list of great places to watch the game is, pardon the pun, gigantic.
Finally, the Super Bowl is here! Time for the epic rematch between Eli Manning and Tom Brady. Can the Giants' pass rush pressure the Patriots' potent passing offense? Will the New England defense rattle Eli? Will Ahmad Bradshaw break a big run? Will Rob Gronkowski heal in time to play? Will Wes Welker catch his usual 25 two-yard passes per game? Will either Bill Belichek or Tom Coughlin crack a smile, once, even just a small one? You'll want to watch all that, plus the halftime show with Madonna and all those commercials in a lively place. Here then are just a few of the best places in Hoboken to watch the game. Or rather, here are a few of the best places in Hoboken to watch the Giants put a huge hurtin' on the Patriots. So, there you …

But now officials will need to convince a judge to overturn a federal law barring gambling on athletics.
Voters appeared to be overwhelmingly approving a statewide referendum Tuesday that will change the state constitution to enable the legalization of gambling on professional and certain college sporting events — but only if a current federal ban is overturned. The Star Ledger was reporting that with 84 percent of the ballots counted, the measure was winning, 61 percent to 31 percent. The amendment was supported by Oceanport Borough, home of Monmouth Park racetrack, as well as Gov. Chris Christie and State Senator Raymond Lesniak (D-Union), who argues that once the referendum is approved, it will only be a matter of months before the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) is ruled unconstitutional. Lesniak has led the crusade…
