NJ Transit to Cross-Honor Tickets Due to Storm

Winter weather event expected to bring rain, snow to region on Tuesday.

You know December is just around the corner when stories like this start coming out. As the region prepares for winter while continuing to recover from Sandy, another storm is predicted to hit the area late Monday evening into Tuesday, providing rain and snow and ensuring messy commutes. NJ Transit will cross-honor tickets all day on Tuesday, "enabling customers to use their ticket or pass on an alternate travel mode-rail, bus or light rail," according to a press release. "For example, customers who normally take the bus from Rutherford to the Port Authority Bus Terminal may use their bus pass on the train from Rutherford to New York Penn Station. 'The Hop' Gets You Around Town

Two new routes, a makeover and the implementation of new features are in store for Hoboken's cross-town shuttle buses.

Not many people know about them, but they're available, and they're being revamped: the cross-town shuttle buses.  With coming improvements, that white van that reads "Cross Town Shuttle" on the side, may just become your new best friend. Today, there is one route that takes passengers from the PATH station along First Street to points as far west as Harrison Street or up Bloomfield Street to points as far north as Fourth Street. For $1—$0.50 for seniors and students—passengers can hop on or off at any point along the route.  In the next two months, a second uptown route will be implemented, and in about six months, an uptown west route will round out what Transportation and Parking Director Ian Sacs refers to as Hoboken's "mini …

It seems that the map here on line is not working most of the time, the page doesn't open, the buses cannot be seen. what is wrong? I sure do hope that this is corrected soon. We really love the idea of the hop. Thanks   more ›
