Early Morning Car Fire Disrupts Neighborhood

One car was totaled and another one damaged in an early morning car fire on Wednesday.

A car fire broke out at Third and Garden Streets, around 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning. One car, which belonged to a 24-year-old Hoboken woman, was destroyed and another damaged during the fire, police said. It's still unclear how the fire was started and if it was accidental or on purpose, police said. The sound of the car alarm and thick black smoke woke up several residents in the area. A pile of trash that was placed on the side of the street to be picked up caught on fire on Wednesday morning and the fire supposedly spread to the car that was parked next to it. Oily residue on the floor and a pile of ashes and debris remained on the sidewalk on Wednesday afternoon. According to the report about the incident, no arson report would be …
