Hoboken Commuters Invited to Air Complaints, Thoughts

That's the question NJ Transit is asking commuters at the Hoboken Terminal on Wednesday afternoon during rush hour.

On Wednesday afternoon, New Jersey Transit is hosting one of its forums at the Hoboken Terminal. The forums are supposed to give customers the opportunity to speak directly to NJ Transit general managers of operations and senior level staff.  The feedback received will be taken into account for NJ Transit's annual scorecards. The forum is scheduled to take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m., right during your evening commute, outside the waiting room at the Hoboken Terminal.

When can I give comments to the PATH?? My ride has been ruined by their stupid, loud, useless, INVASIVE and RIDICULOUS announcements that serve no purpose except to annoy the crap out of their riders. I've been riding the PATH for 30 years and always used to brag about the PATH: great service run by professionals who respected your PEACE AND QUIET. No longer. I'm stunned that someone in charge …   more ›

NJ Transit Crew Rescues Dog in Train's Path

"Lucky" dog is expected to be reunited with its Garfield owner later Tuesday.

This New Jersey dog definitely deserves the nickname “Lucky.” Sharp-eyed crew members on a Hoboken-bound NJ Transit train likely saved the life of a lost dog stranded in the path of a speeding commuter train in Garfield Tuesday morning. The crew spotted the small white dog on the tracks ahead near the bridge over Passaic Avenue at approximately 8:30 a.m. The crew pulled the brakes, bringing Train 1254 to a halt.  “The crew brought the dog, who they dubbed “Lucky,” on the train with them to Hoboken Terminal,” said NJ Transit Spokesperson Courtney Carroll. "NJ Rail Operations contacted Garfield PD, and successfully located the owner." As of Tuesday afternoon "Lucky" still hadn't been reunited with the Garfield woman who lost him, Carroll …

You have been misled, the WMDs absolutely existed because Rumsfield sold them to them to Iraq during the Ford and Reagan years, unfortunately they and about $100 million in cold hard US currency was smuggled out of Iraq into Iran and Syria and god knows where else before we could get in there and reclaim them. The Mustard Gas Saddam used on the Kurds was compliments of the USA. Most folks forget…   more ›

Why bother complaining? The fix is in, as it is in every area of this state. It doesn't matter who you vote for. Christie was 100 percent behind the fare hikes. NJT will continue to have bloated payrolls and overpaid workers, and will continue to raise fares. But at least you'll get a pretty brochure on your train seat every so often.   more ›

How about just doing something to protect the hundreds of millions of dollars of equipment you have there and the rest of your own facilities? We don't need your help to protect Hoboken b/c if you protect your own property, that automatically creates a barrier b/w Hoboken and most of the areas the flooding can come in from on the south end of town.   more ›

NJ Transit Cross-Honoring Tickets During Storm

Cross-honoring in effect through Thursday.

As the area braces for a potential three-to-five inches of tardy snow (not quite a White Christmas, but close, right?), NJ Transit announced that it would be cross-honoring of tickets starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Cross-honoring will remain in effect until the end of the service day Thursday, Dec. 27, enabling customers to use their ticket or pass on an alternate travel mode—rail, bus or light rail. For example, customers who normally take the bus from Rutherford to the Port Authority Bus Terminal may use their bus pass on the train from Rutherford to New York Penn Station. Similarly, customers who normally take the bus between Atlantic City and Lindenwold may use the train instead. Customers are reminded that many NJ Transit rail lines …

Typical NJ Transit. They will cross-honor tickets during the storm. They should do that all the time! There shouldn't be a difference between having a bus ticket or a rail ticket, it's all going to the same pocket- NJ Transit. It would be helpful if NJT would, at some point, let customers know what their travel options are if rail is out. For example, if service goes out on the Morris & Essex …   more ›
