Superintendent Addresses School Safety [POLL]
Dr. Mark Toback briefly broached the topic on Tuesday night during the monthly school board meeting.
In the wake of the devastating shooting in Newtown, Conn., school safety has been on the minds of many parents. The topic has come up at a recent council meeting, when Councilman Michael Russo proposed adding security to the schools. Council members Jennifer Giattino and Peter Cunningham met with Superintendent Dr. Mark Toback and School Board President Leon Gold recently to discuss the safety plan for the schools. City Attorney Melissa Longo told Russo at a recent council meeting she'd look into the option of having police officers work security at the schools.
