Tunes Stays Strong Despite Music's Move from CD to MP3
The Hoboken music store remains optimistic even though nationwide album sales are declining.
As more people are using iPods, Pandora and song downloads to get their music fix, the need to buy CDs, vinyl or even the oldie but goodie cassette tape is no longer in demand, While the transition has made things a bit easier to carry huge sound libraries, the decline in music sales has not only hit the record industry hard but also made it more difficult for music shops to stay afloat. "No doubt new sales have gone down consistently year after year," Tunes owner Chip Heuisler told Patch. "It's just a downward trend."
