An Escape From St. Pat's, But Keeping it Green

The weather is supposed to be glorious on Saturday. That's perfect for the 25th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. But not for me. I like to escape town with my family on that day. Here's how I plan on spending my day. Don't worry, the color green will still be omnipresent. When the bars open at 9 a.m.—or maybe even a bit before—I am going to the New York Botanical Gardens. I recently discovered that if you drive north on River Road, about five minutes past Trader Joe's you reach the George Washington Bridge. The street turns into Main Street and then Hudson Terrace, and from there you make a left onto a ramp that puts you right onto the bridge.
