Paper and its potential as a medium continue to spark Heather Corey's attention. She investigates paper as the subject rather than the surface and practices Western and Eastern traditions of papermaking.

Corey earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Education from Moravian College and received her Master of Fine Arts Degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts where she studied under Carson Fox, Murray Dessner, and Anthony Ciambella among others.

She maintains a papermaking studio in the Monroe Art Center, Suite E510 (Hoboken, NJ) and has exhibited in galleries and taught courses at the college level. Corey currently teaches drawing, painting, and sculpture at the high school level.

This past summer (2011) Corey was selected to exhibit in &#39;Chain Letter&#39;, Shoshana Wayne Gallery, Santa Monica, CA, curated by Christian Cummings and Doug Harvey.  Initially conceived by Christian Cummings and Doug Harvey in 2006, the exhibition was based on invitation by someone who admires your work.  Each artist then invited ten other artists whom they admire, and so on.
