Special Meeting Scheduled to Pass Appropriations

The council is being asked to approve more than $600,000.

For the fourth Wednesday in a row, the city council will meet on Feb. 22.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer called for a special meeting after more than $600,000 in emergency temporary appropriations weren't passed earlier this week. The cost include litigation cost for 27 law suits as well as $259,800 for a wheel loader and $161,995 for a street sweeper.

Six members of the city council need to vote in favor of the measure, for it to pass. This means that at least one member of the council minority—all four members voted "no" on this last time—needs to support the resolutions.

In a memo, Zimmer laid out the 27 law suits which need funding, ranging from the Monarch Project to rent control suits to multiple personnel matters.

The council will convene at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
