Firefighters Rescue Man Who Fell From Adams Street Rooftop

Hoboken firefighters tore through the wall of an Adams Street building late Friday night to rescue a man who fell backwards off its rooftop.

Hoboken firefighters rescued a man who fell several stories from an Adams Street rooftop and became stuck in a small gap between two buildings late Friday night, city spokesman Juan Melli said Saturday.

Melli said the man was smoking on the rooftop when he fell back and got wedged between a three-foot space between 209 and 211 Adams St.

Firefighters were unable to reach the man from above and had to tear through a wall in the building to rescue the man, who was taken to an area hospital, Melli said. His condition is not known at this time.
