Huge Crowds Anticipated for 4th of July in Hoboken, NJ

This year, you can see the Macys 4th of July fireworks from land, pier or a boat.

The one place you won’t be able to see them? From your car.

With road closures and delays of up to four hours departing the Hudson shoreline – two hours alone just to get your car out of the garage – the train is your best bet. The PATH is running extra trains to accommodate expected crowds of three million spectators. Most viewers typically congregate in the area of Pier A in downtown Hoboken, but with Pier 13 offering free access this 4th, all bets are off for uptown. If you want to secure good seating, you should arrive by 6pm for the fireworks start time of 9:25pm. The best fireworks views? In uptown Hoboken and Weehawken.
